Data protection information
Once you submit your e-mail address, it is stored in a database maintained by the University of Passau, together with the subscription status and the date of registration. These data are stored until you unsubscribe or the system determines that the e-mail address does not exist (e-mail not deliverable). No additional information is stored.
In accordance with §21 and §22 of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (Landesdatenschutzgesetz, LDSG), you have the right to request information on all your personal data held by the University of Passau, and to demand correction of any factually incorrect data.
Unsubscribing from the newsletter
Naturally you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. To do so, simply click on the unsubscribe link included in the sign-up confirmation e-mail or in every newsletter.
To send you our newsletter we need your e-mail address. Rest assured that we will use your e-mail address exclusively to send you the newsletter and we will never give out your e-mail address to anybody else. You may use any e-mail address you wish – it does not have to be your official University e-mail address, for instance.
The subscription procedure uses the so-called 'double-opt-in' method: As a first step you enter your e-mail address below. When you click 'Subscribe', a confirmation message appears on screen, indicating that your registration has been received. Additionally, a confirmation message is sent to your e-mail account. This message contains a link that you need to click to complete the sign-up process and activate your subscription. If you decide that you do not wish to receive the newsletter after all, simply click on the unsubscribe link in the confirmation e-mail. This will delete your e-mail address from the mailing list.
