Chair Profile
In research and teaching, the chair's self-image is oriented toward the professionalization processes of teaching staff (with special attention to primary school).
Field Of Action: As a part of a curriculum-oriented educational science, (primary) school education deals with middle and late childhood and the interrelationships between education and the educational system. In terms of primary school, it deals with the basic education of learning and teaching
and - since primary school is the "first, common and basic" institution to be attended by all children - also with educational processes under the complex conditions of heterogeneity.
The Teacher: The aim of the work at the Chair of Education with a focus on Diversity Research and Educational Spaces in Middle Childhood is to contribute in research and teaching to the development of the pedagogical professionalism of teachers (at primary schools).
The Profigrafiemodell (= professionality and biography: see Hansen 2018, Schenz 2011) represents the theoretical-conceptual basis for this work at the chair. Students should be supported in understanding their professionalization as a biographical, cross-phase and lifelong professional development process. The focus of attention is on systematized knowledge and reflection processes.
Empirical work on this core topic of the chair can be found at "professionalization of teacher education".
