Study and teaching
Student Services
Our approach to studying and teaching, for which the Chair of Education with a focus on Diversity Research and Educational Spaces in Middle Childhood is responsible, is characterised, among other things, by a close interlinking of theory and practice, the international orientation of the professionalisation of future teachers and the individual support of profession-related reflection processes.
In addition to the implementation of an alternative form of internship, the so-called model curriculum (MC), as well as participation in international internships, (compulsory) excursions, mandatory e-portfolio and reflection work, and the choice of a certificate of specialisation have been incorporated into the various specialisation modules.
Please take into account the following key information for the organisation of your studies in the Department of Primary Education:
The individual lecturers will be happy to provide you with information about the content, structure and special features of the respective courses.
We offer you the opportunity to complete part of your teacher training with us by taking part in the primary school-specific alternative teacher training programme Modellcuriculum (MC)’ or by doing an International teacher training internship. For more information about teacher training, please contact the Teacher Placement Office.
Participation in a mandatory excursion in the area of the specialisation module (GSP/SSE/SU 2.1/2.2) is mandatory for all students. The description of the respective course indicates whether the seminar includes an excursion or not. Only these designated excursions can be booked as a compulsory excursion. In addition, further voluntary excursions can be taken. For all excursions with a destination abroad, students must ensure that they have adequate accident and health insurance.
We invite you to acquire scientific expertise in a selected area of specialisation, to get to know practical fields of action and to expand your professional perspectives – and to be able to prove this professional profile with the certificate.
Workload and assessments are to be documented in the form of an E-Portfolio for all courses in the specialisation module (GSP, SU, SSE 2.1/2.2 and GSP 2.3) and submitted via STUD.IP.
To ensure that you receive the best support for your Qualification Thesis, we ask you to take into account the main areas of work and research of our employees.
