Certificate programme ‘Teaching and learning at memorial sites’
Certificate programme ‘Teaching and learning at memorial sites’ at the memorial site at the Mainkofen district hospital
Enrolment now open: Further education course ‘Teaching and learning at memorial sites’ 2024/2025
The 6-day course ‘Teaching and Learning at Memorial Sites’ will start for the second time in autumn 2024/25 - an offer that has been developed and is being carried out in cooperation between the Mainkofen District Hospital, the Schloss Hartheim Learning and Memorial Site, the Deggendorf Institute of Technology and the University of Passau (Chair of Educational Science with a focus on diversity research and educational spaces of middle childhood).
The aim is the professional qualification of memorial site guides. The focus is on the memorial site at the Mainkofen Clinic and thus the stigmatisation, persecution and extermination of people who were categorised as ‘unworthy of life’ by the Nazis. In addition to historical foundations, local specialisation and an examination of concepts from the field of memorial pedagogy, the focus is on enabling students to reflect on their professional field.
The modules take place at the Mainkofen Clinical Centre, the Schloss Hartheim Learning and Memorial Site and the University of Passau and are supervised by specialists from the aforementioned institutions and the Deggendorf Institute of Technology.
The programme is aimed in particular at teachers and students from the healthcare professions, the education and social sectors and all interested parties.
