What is Model United Nations?
MUN is a simulation offered mainly at universities, but also at schools, to strengthen argumentation skills and understanding of international problems. In these simulations, participants represent delegates from different countries or individual selected international NGOs. The meetings usually proceed in such a way that a topic is determined for which each participant has a few days to prepare and which is then discussed during the meeting. As with the real United Nations, we also debate in English.
Within the university group MUN Society, lectures concerning international topics are held every semester by lecturers or professors of the university. We also provide training for debating and workshops for all participants of the group in order to prepare them for larger conferences.
The MUN higlights are national, European or even worldwide conferences, where teams from all over the world conduct a large simulation over several days.
Please find more information about the activities of the MUN Society Passau on the German-language website.
