Sebastian Glassner is presently a research associate and lecturer at the Professorship of International Politics at the University of Passau. He holds a Master's degree in “Governance and Public Policy” from the University of Passau. Furthermore, Mr. Glassner studied at the Sciences Po Toulouse. His research interests include foreign policy analysis in general, as well as populist foreing policy in particular, discourse theory and silence in International Relations. He puts his empirical focus on Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Brazil and the UK. His doctoral project (monograph) holds the title "When foreign policy does noet speak" and has set as its goal the integration of silence - the unsaid - into foreign policy research.

As a member of the Network for Silence Studies, our aim is to conjoin researchers who study the significance of silence in various ways. We share an experience that there seem to be immense amounts of studies in various aspects of silence, but these studies seem to be scattered and struggle to unite into a common field of silence studies.
