Robin Hering

From 2016 to 2021 Robin Hering worked as a research associate at the chair of international politics. During his time in Passau, he researched and taught on the protection of civilians, mass atrocities, the United Nations and its peacekeeping missions as well on international politics in general. His PhD on the "Protection of civilians in armed conflict" focuses especially on the concept of safe areas and the role mass atrocities play in national foreign policies.
Before coming to Passau, he received his master's in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Previously he also studied Politics and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz (Germany) and at SciencesPo Aix-en-Provence (France). He gained practical experiences at the German Embassy in South Africa, at the Office of the German KfW development bank for Mexico, Nicaragua and Costa Rica as well as in different research projects of the University of Konstanz. He is also vice chair of the German NGO Genocide Alert.
