International affairs
The promotion of internationalisation, both in terms of quantity and quality, is a declared goal of our University. Internationalisation must be ensured at all levels (research staff, students, administrative staff) and must be a two-way process. In other words, not only should students and lecturers from Passau go abroad, but an increasing number of international researchers, lecturers and students should come to Passau. The University of Passau offers many well-designed mobility programmes for students (especially through ERASMUS and DAAD). It also provides numerous advisory services for students.
With a view to promoting mobility among lecturers and researchers, the international visiting lecturers programme for the promotion of teaching was specially developed at and for our faculty, as was the international visiting academics programme for the promotion of cooperation in research.
Internationalisation is a defining characteristic of the Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences. Studying abroad is a great opportunity to gain valuable intercultural experience in a foreign country, which complements the knowledge gained during your studies. Employers also look for international experience when assessing candidates for entry-level positions.
