Examinations
There is no degree programme that does not involve sitting examinations at some point. This makes it all the more important that students acquaint themselves with the administrative system (Board of Examiners) and how examinations are set and organised.
Work placements
Most degree programmes of the Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences require that students complete at least one internship in Germany or abroad. For details on the requirements of the individual Bachelor's and Master's programmes, contact the Career Service. Furthermore, the Faculty has Internship Officers, whose responsibility is to assess your completed work placement.
Students enrolled in a teacher education programme ('Lehramt') should contact the Teacher Education Centre (ZLF) for work placements and practice teaching.
Studying abroad
Planning and organising a study or work period abroad can be daunting task. We are keen to give you our best support and recommend that you attend one of the initial guidance sessions offered by the International Office.
To ensure that your assessments completed abroad count towards your degree in Passau, you should conclude an individual learning agreement before you go abroad.
Academic Advice Service
The University's Academic Advice Service and the programme advisers of the Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences are your first port of call for any questions or problems you may have concerning your studies, choice of subjects, and so on.
Special programme co-ordinators are on hand to advise students enrolled in the degree programmes with larger class sizes.
